In 2023, St. Bridget had the honor to host Father Deogratias Sseemaluulu (Fr. Deo) as a visiting priest from Uganda. The deep friendships he formed while in Virginia led to an enduring partnership. Fr. Deo has returned to St. Bridget each summer since, and St. Bridget’s has had the opportunity to raise money for a variety of projects to help Fr. Deo’s ministry in rural Uganda, including a system for water-harvesting, a car (so that Fr. Deo can more easily make his 30km rounds to various parishes), a corn mill, and structural improvements in several buildings.
